Students entering the Protection, Security & Investigation Diploma program in Fall 2019 or later will receive the following 7.0 transfer credits:

• 0.5 ADMN 3250H - The Legal Environment of Business
• 0.5 CRIM 1615H - Introduction to Criminology 
• 0.5 FRSC 1100H – Introduction to Canadian Justice
• 0.5 INDG 1001H – The Foundation of Reconciliation
• 0.5 PSYC 1020H – Introduction to Psychology Part 1: Experimental and Biological Bases of Behaviour
• 0.5 SOCI 1001H – Introduction to Sociology I: Critical Foundation
• 0.5 UNIV 1004H - Reflective Writing and Critical Engagement
• 0.5 WRIT 1001H – Write in Time
• 0.5 WRIT 2002H - Write it Up: Effective Communication
• 0.5 unassigned Gender and Social Justice credit at the 1000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Political Studies credit at the 1000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Policing and Community Well-being credit at the 2000 level
• 1.0 unassigned Art credits at the 1000 level

*Additional notes: Students who have completed Fleming College's Indigenous Perspectives Designation (IPD) are also eligible to receive transfer credit for INDG 1002H - Foundations of Modern Indigenous Life. Students must notify admissions@trentu.ca that they have completed the IPD in order to receive the additional credit. 

Transfer credits for students who entered the Protection, Security & Investigation Diploma program prior to Fall 2019 will be awarded on a course-by-course basis.

To qualify for this pathway, students must:

• Successfully complete Fleming College’s Protection, Security & Investigation Diploma program;
• Achieve a minimum overall average of 75%.

Students interested in degree programs not included in this pathway are referred to the Trent University website for information about admission requirements. Applicants will be considered in accordance with Trent University's general admission requirements. Students who meet the terms of the pathway will be eligible to receive the block of credits, but all transfer credits received may not be apply in full to all degree programs. 

Applicants who do not meet the minimum average requirements, but who are otherwise admissible to Trent University, will be considered for admission based on general admission requirements.

Students are required to complete the following 13.0 credits to fulfill requirements for the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Criminology:

• 0.5 CRIM 2616H – Monsters and Misfits 
• 0.5 CRIM 2617H – Criminology Research Methods
• 0.5 CRIM 3617H – Criminological Data Analysis
• 0.5 CRIM 3650H – Doing Crime and Doing Time: Advanced Research Design
• 0.5 CRIM 3660H – Policing and Punishing Poverty
• 0.5 INDG 3201H – Indigenous Peoples in Urban Centres – City as Home
• 0.5 SOCI 1002H - Introduction to Sociology II: Exploring Social Life
• 0.5 credit from the following: 
  • 0.5 SOCI 2220H – Intersecting Social Inequalities;
  • 0.5 SOCI 2610H – Deviance and Social Control 
• 2.0 Criminology credits at the 4000 level
• 2.5 additional Criminology credits at the 3000 and/or 4000 level(s)
• 1.0 additional Criminology credit
• 3.5 elective credits 

*Additional notes:

• Courses without specified year levels must include no more than 1.0 credits at the 1000 level.
• The Criminology degree is also offered entirely online.

This Agreement will be reviewed annually, or more frequently if significant curriculum changes occur at either institution that may impact the pathway. Either party may terminate this Agreement by providing one year's written notice to the other party. In the event of termination, the parties will make reasonable efforts to ensure that students currently enrolled in the pathway are able to complete their studies without disruption.
