Students admitted through this transfer pathway will receive a block transfer of 3.5 first-year Faculty of Art studio credits and will be eligible to graduate with a Bachelor Fine Arts degree in approximately 3 years. Transfer credits in Arts & Science courses will be evaluated separately on an individual basis.

Requirements

OCAD U recognizes the Art Fundamentals Certificate (and other variations of the name) from the Ontario Colleges as meeting the criteria for a conditional offer for Year 2 entry to one of the following Bachelor of Fine Arts programs:

 

  • Criticism & Curatorial Practice
  • Integrated Media
  • Photography
  • Printmaking & Publications
  • Sculpture/Installation

Applicants must graduate by June for September entry with an overall average of 75%. A portfolio is not required for admission; however, applicants must meet OCAD U’s English prerequisite and language proficiency requirements (if applicable).

 

Applicants must apply through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (www.ouac.on.ca) by early February for September start and must use the articulation agreement program code for the program they are applying to:

Cancellation Policy

This transfer pathway is effective for September 2023 applications and onwards. OCAD U will review the terms, including curriculum of the 10 Ontario College programs, every three years. OCAD U reserves the right to terminate this transfer pathway, at their discretion, by September 30 each year. Students enrolled at OCAD U at the time of change or termination, shall be allowed to complete their degree based on the terms of the original pathway.
