Students beginning studies in the General Arts and Science - Aboriginal Studies Certificate program since Fall 2020 will receive the following 5.0 transfer credits:
- 0.5 INDG 1001H - The Foundation for Reconciliation
- 0.5 INDG 1500H - Foundations of Indigenous Community Development
- 1.0 INDG 2800Y - Introduction to Nishinaabemowin
- 0.5 unassigned Indigenous Studies credit at the 2000 level
- 0.5 unassigned Indigenous Studies credit at the 3000 level
- 2.0 unassigned Arts credits at the 1000 level
Transfer credits for students who began studies in the General Arts and Science - Aboriginal Studies Diploma program prior to Fall 2020 will be awarded on a course-by-course basis.

To qualify for this agreement, students must have:
- Successfully completed Algonquin College's General Arts and Science - Aboriginal Studies Certificate;
- A minimum overall average of 75%.

Students must complete the following 15.0 credits to fulfill requirements for the Indigenous Studies degree:
- 0.5 INDG 1002H - Foundations of Modern Life
- 1.0 INDG 2100Y - Introduction to Indigenous Knowledge
- 1.0 INDG 3813Y - Indigenous Studies Research Methodology
- 0.5 INDG 4201H - Honours Collegium
- 0.5 INDG 4202H - Honours Collegium: Building a Four Directional Understanding
- 0.5 Indigenous Studies credit from Category B
- 0.5 Indigenous Studies credit from Category D
- 2.0 additional Indigenous Studies credits at the 4000 level
- 8.5 elective credits

The agreement will be reviewed annually, or sooner in the event of major curriculum changes in either partner’s programs. This agreement may be terminated by either party. In this case, notice of one year is required. In the event of termination of the agreement, every effort will be made to ensure that students currently enrolled in the program will not be affected.
