Transfer credits for students beginning studies in the Addictions and Mental Health Worker Diploma program prior to Fall 2017 will be awarded on a course-by-course basis.

- successfully completed Centennial College’s Addictions and Mental Health Worker Diploma program;
- a minimum overall average of 75%.

Students must complete the following 9.0 credits to fulfill requirements for the Policing and Community Well-being degree:

  • 0.5 PLCW 1001H - Introduction to Policing and Community Well-being Part 1
  • 0.5 PLCW 1002H - Introduction to Policing and Community Well-being Part 2
  • 0.5 PLCW 2002H - Community Problem-Solving and Analysis
  • 0.5 PLCW 2003H - Social Determinants of Health
  • 0.5 PLCW 2005H - Diversity and Exclusion
  • 0.5 PLCW 2010H - Conflict Resolution
  • 0.5 PLCW 2100H - Research Methods in Policing and Community Well-being
  • 0.5 PLCW 3003H - Violence in the Community
  • 0.5 PLCW 3007H - Problem-solving in a Complex and Diverse Community
  • 0.5 FRSC 1100H - Introduction to Canadian Justice
  • 0.5 SOCI 1001H - Introduction to Sociology I: Critical Foundations
  • 0.5 SOCI 1002H - Introduction to Sociology II: Exploring Social Life
  • 3.0 additional credits, including:
    • At least 2.5 credits at the 3000 or 4000 level;
    • No more than 1.0 credit at the 1000 level;
    • At least 0.5 credit from the Approved Indigenous Course List.

*Additional notes: 

  • Fulfilling the requirements above lead to a Bachelor of Arts in Policing and Community Well-being. Students interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Policing and Community Well-being must complete additional requirements.
  • Students may take only one of PLCW 4004Y or 4005Y for credit.
  • CHYS-COMM 2010H and SOCI 2151H are not permitted to take PLCW 2100H but must substitute another PLCW course at the 2000 level or beyond in order to fulfill degree requirements. 
  • Students are encouraged to include one of SOCI 2430H - Sociology of Gender, 2610H - Deviance and Social Control, or 2615H - Crime and Society as electives for the degree.

The agreement will be reviewed annually, or sooner in the event of major curriculum changes in either partner’s programs. This agreement may be terminated by either party. In this case, notice of one year is required. In the event of termination of the agreement, every effort will be made to ensure that students currently enrolled in the program will not be affected.
