- a minimum overall average of 75%.

Students must complete the following 13.0 credits to fulfill requirements for the Indigenous Environmental Studies degree:

  • 0.5 IESS 1001H - Foundations in Indigenous Environmental 
  • 1.0 IESS 2601Y - Indigenous Knowledge Systems & Environment
  • 0.5 IESS 3631H - Issues- Indigenous Environmental Studies
  • 0.5 IESS 3632H - Global Issues in Indigenous Environmental Studies
  • 0.5 IESS 3731H - Understanding Indigenous Peoples' Health
  • 0.5 IESS 3732H - Addressing Indigenous Peoples' Health
  • 1.0 IESS 4730Y - Sustainable Indigenous Communities
  • 1.0 IESS 4740Y - Indigenous Peoples Health & Environment
  • 0.5 INDG 1001H - Foundation for Reconciliation 
  • 0.5 INDG 1002H - Critical Incidents in Indigenous Life

*Additional Notes: Students have the opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Indigenous Environmental Science. Students must pursue a science topic in IESS 3731H - Understanding Indigenous Peoples' Health and IESS 3732H - Addressing Indigenous Peoples' Health in order to fulfill the minimum number of Science credits required. Students not pursuing a science topic are required to complete additional learning in Science. Trent University also offers a pathway for Environmental Technician Diploma graduates leading into Environmental and Resource Science. More information about the pathway is available here.

The agreement will be reviewed annually, or sooner in the event of major curriculum changes in either partner’s programs. This agreement may be terminated by either party. In this case, notice of one year is required. In the event of termination of the agreement, every effort will be made to ensure that students currently enrolled in the program will not be affected.
