Students who entered the Environmental Technician Diploma program in Fall 2020 or later will receive the following 10.0 transfer credits, provided they meet the pathway eligibility requirements:

• 0.5 ERSC 2080H - Natural Science Statistics 
• 0.5 ERSC 2090H - Introduction to Geographic Information Systems
• 0.5 ERSC 2230H - Environmental Assessment: Sampling and Analysis
• 0.5 ERST 2525H - Critical Environmental Thinking: Political Economy and Policy Process
• 0.5 BIOL 1020H - Foundations of Biodiversity
• 0.5 BIOL 3050H - Limnology
• 0.5 BIOL 3190H - Wild Plants of Ontario
• 0.5 CHEM 1000H - Introductory Chemistry I
• 0.5 INDG 1001H - The Foundation for Reconciliation
• 0.5 WRIT 1001H - Write in Time 
• 0.5 WRIT 2002H - Write It Up: Effective Communication
• 0.5 unassigned Environmental and Resource Science credits at the 3000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Geography credit at the 2000 level
• 2.0 unassigned Science credits at the 1000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Science credit at the 2000 level

*Additional notes: Students who have completed the Indigenous Perspectives Designation at Fleming are eligible to receive transfer credit for INDG 1002H - Foundations of Modern Indigenous Life in place of WRIT 1001H - Write in Time. Students must notify admissions@trentu.ca that they have completed the IPD to have their transfer credits adjusted. Students must still complete 10.0 credits at Trent University to meet program and university requirements.

Transfer credits for students who entered the Environmental Technician Diploma program prior to Fall 2020 will be awarded on a course-by-course basis.

To qualify for this agreement, students must:

• Successfully complete Fleming College’s Environmental Technician Diploma;
• Achieve a minimum overall average of 75%.

Students interested in degree programs not included in this pathway are referred to the Trent University website for information about admission requirements. Applicants will be considered in accordance with Trent University's general admission requirements. Students who meet the terms of the pathway will be eligible to receive the block of credits, but all transfer credits received may not be apply in full to all degree programs. 

Applicants who do not meet the minimum average requirements, but who are otherwise admissible to Trent University, will be considered for admission based on general admission requirements.

Students must complete the following 10.0 credits at Trent University to fulfill requirements for the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Environmental and Resource Science:

• 0.5 credit from the following:
  • 0.5 ERSC 1040H - Earth's Physical Processes and Environments;
  • 0.5 ERSC 1060H - Introduction to Climate Change Science and Policy;
  • 0.5 ERST 1030H - Human Geographies in Global Contexts;
  • 0.5 SAFS 1001H - Introduction to Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems
• 0.5 ERSC 2220H - Environmental Assessment: Chemical and Laboratory Methods
• 0.5 ERSC 2230H - Environmental Assessment: Sampling and Analysis
• 0.5 ERST 3000H - Environmental Professional Practice
• 0.5 MATH 1051H - Non-Calculus Statistics 1
• 0.5 credit from the Trent School of Environment Capstone Course List
• 4.5 additional Environmental and Resource Science credits at the 3000 level or above
• 0.5 additional Environmental and Resource Science credit at the 2000 level or above
• 0.5 additional Environmental and Resource Studies credit at the 2000 level or above
• 1.5 elective credits, including:
  • At least 0.5 Math credit;
  • No more than 1.0 credit at the 1000 level

This Agreement will be reviewed annually, or more frequently if significant curriculum changes occur at either institution that may impact the pathway. Either party may terminate this Agreement by providing one year's written notice to the other party. In the event of termination, the parties will make reasonable efforts to ensure that students currently enrolled in the pathway are able to complete their studies without disruption.
