Students who entered the Ecosystem Management Technician Diploma program in Fall 2020 or later will receive the following 10.0 transfer credits, provided they meet the pathway eligibility requirements:

• 0.5 ERSC-GEOG-BIOL 2080H - Natural Science Statistics
• 0.5 ERSC 2090H – Introduction to Geographical Information Systems
• 0.5 ERSC 2240H - Ecological Assessment for Natural Resource Management
• 0.5 ERSC-BIOL 2260H - Introductory Ecology
• 0.5 BIOL 1020H - Foundations of Biodiversity
• 0.5 BIOL 3190H - Wild Plants of Ontario
• 0.5 INDG 1001H - The Foundation for Reconciliation
• 0.5 WRIT 2002H - Write It Up: Effective Communication
• 0.5 unassigned Environmental and Resource Science credit at the 2000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Environmental and Resource Science credit at the 3000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Environmental and Resource Science credit at the 4000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Environmental and Resource Studies credit at the 2000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Biology credit at the 2000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Arts credit at the 1000 level
• 1.5 unassigned Science credits at the 1000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Science credit at the 3000 level
   

*Additional notes: Students who have completed Fleming College's Indigenous Perspectives Designation (IPD) are also eligible to receive transfer credit for INDG 1002H - Foundations of Modern Indigenous Life. Students must notify admissions@trentu.ca that they have completed the IPD in order to receive the additional credit and will still be required to complete 10.0 credits at Trent University to fulfill major and university requirements.

Transfer credits for students who entered the Ecosystem Management Technician Diploma program prior to Fall 2020 will be awarded on a course-by-course basis.

To qualify for this agreement, students must:

• Successfully complete Fleming College’s Ecosystem Management Technician Diploma;
• Achieve a minimum overall average of 75%.

Students interested in degree programs not included in this pathway are referred to the Trent University website for information about admission requirements. Applicants will be considered in accordance with Trent University's general admission requirements. Students who meet the terms of the pathway will be eligible to receive the block of credits, but all transfer credits received may not be apply in full to all degree programs. 

Applicants who do not meet the minimum average requirements, but who are otherwise admissible to Trent University, will be considered for admission based on general admission requirements.

Students must complete the following 10.0 credits at Trent University to fulfill requirements for the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Environmental and Resource Science:

• 0.5 credit from the following:
  • 0.5 ERSC 1040H - Earth's Physical Processes and Environments;
  • 0.5 ERSC 1060H - Introduction to Climate Change;
  • 0.5 ERST 1030H - Society, Environment, and Place;
  • 0.5 SAFS 1001H - Introduction to Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems
• 0.5 ERSC 2220H - Environmental Assessment: Chemical and Laboratory Methods
• 0.5 ERSC 2230H - Environmental Assessment: Sampling and Analysis
• 0.5 ERST 3000H - Environmental Professional Practice
• 0.5 MATH 1051H - Non-Calculus Statistics 1
• 0.5 credit from the Trent School of Environment Capstone Course List
• 4.0 additional Environmental and Resource Science credits at the 3000 level or above
• 0.5 additional Environmental and Resource Studies credit at the 2000 level or above
• 2.5 elective credits, including:
  • a minimum of 1.0 Math credit
  • a minimum of 1.0 science credit

*Additional notes: 

• Courses without specified year levels must include at least 0.5 credit at the 3000 or 4000 level, and no more than 2.0 credits at the 1000 level.

This Agreement will be reviewed annually, or more frequently if significant curriculum changes occur at either institution that may impact the pathway. Either party may terminate this Agreement by providing one year's written notice to the other party. In the event of termination, the parties will make reasonable efforts to ensure that students currently enrolled in the pathway are able to complete their studies without disruption.
